Garden Gateway is a FREE workshop series that facilitates the learning and sharing of food growing and healthy cooking skills, and knowledge about the connections between what we eat and our health. The free workshop series takes place year round. In adjusting to the realities of life under COVID-19 all workshops for the 2020-2021 season will be virtual.
Join us every month for new gardening and cooking workshops where you will learn how to grow food using natural and sustainable methods that don’t rely on chemical fertilizers or pesticides and prepare healthy dishes using produce from your garden!
Participants are given FREE gardening supplies and fresh produce to take home so you can put gardening strategies and new cooking skills to use right away! In order to receive the free materials you must be a
registered Garden Gateway participant. Participants will be sent details on how to reserve materials related to the workshops offered each month. Participants will be expected to share a photo of the materials in use with CSU.
CSU partners with UC Coop Extension to offer a certificate in Home Gardening to individuals who participate in the Garden Gateway program. Individuals who participate in a predetermined number of Garden Gateway workshops during a season are eligible to become certified. Upon successful completion of this program ongoing participants can become a Garden Gateway Mentor; helping to deliver GGW sessions. Details on the certificate will be sent to individuals who
